Morinda citrifolia also known as Indian Mulberry and famously known in Hawaii as Noni la’au is an herbal plant that was brought to the islands of Hawaii by Hawai’I Loa. This plant whose fruit grows to a size similar to that of a potato has unpleasant characteristics. The noni fruit has a lumpy skin and bad smell when it becomes fully ripe. But aside from these unpleasant characteristics, the noni fruit is a wonderful fruit. This fruit has been found to have healing capabilities due to its alkaloid contents.
Hawaii Herbal Blessings took notice of the healing capacity of the noni fruit and started to make products to market to people to strengthen their health. It was David Marcus who started this company and produced, processed and marketed organic noni products. Though they are a well established company, Hawaii Herbal Blessings still use traditional methods in making their noni products. All the noni fruit that they use are proudly grown in Hawaii. All their products are also approved by the FDA.
Hawaiian Herbal Blessings produce Noni juice that is either pasteurized or unpasteurized. These juices are placed in glass containers for health purposes and in order to seal in their freshness. The company also produces noni capsules which serve the same purpose as that of the noni juice. These capsules contain powderized form of the noni fruit and have even the seed and fiber. Taking one capsule is similar to taking ¾ tablespoon of the juice. The company has also produced a skin care line made from the noni fruit for a healthier and more beautiful skin.
