From watching Emeril Lagrasse’s cooking show, a dream was instilled in the mind of James “JimmyChan” Chan. Taking the show as an inspiration, he set out to look for the best cooking methods and spices to product the perfect snack chips. This is how the Hawaiian Chip Company was born. From then on their sweet potato chips and taro chips have been patronized by all of Hawaii.
Hawaiian Chip Company makes use of only the best quality produce to make their sweet potato and taro chips. For their sweet potato chips and taro chips, they only make use of Okinawan sweet potato and taro grown in Hawaii. They also offer gourmet chips which are made from sweet potato that is grown in the Molokai Island.
Snack chips, especially potato chips, have become a favorite snack treat but eating them has now become of concern. The Hawaiian Chip Company addressed this by making their chips as natural as they possibly can. They have started to use canola oil which is free from trans-fat instead of partially hydrogenated soybean oil. The cooking process they have developed allows them to keep their products preservative-free as well as reduce the amount of salt used without reducing the chips’ flavor.
The Hawaiian Chip Company has been able to develop healthy natural chips in five different flavors which are Original, Zesty Garlic, Kiawwe Barbeque, Lilasuea Fire and Sugar Coated. Today, they have developed other flavors which may be bringing out to the people soon.
