The dream of opening a bakery and producing a delicious Hawaiian-made cracker was realized in October 12, 1921 by Hidegoro Murai, Kikutaro Hiruya and Natsu Muramoto. Being friends with the same dream, they established Diamond Bakery Co., Ltd. Everything did not go smoothly for these friends as they encountered many challenges, Murai did not even get to see the full realization of his dream as he passed away before the company’s peak. Through the good fortune of hiring Sam Dunphy who was already an experienced baker, they were able to produce the crackers that they were dreaming of in 1937. They did not stop at making crackers but also produced cookies with the same quality as their crackers.

In present times, Diamond Bakery Co., Ltd. is able to share the taste of their delicious Hawaiian-made crackers and chocolates not only to the people of Hawaii but to the whole world. Opening their doors to the world proved to be the right thing to do as the demand for Diamond Bakery’s delectable products continue to rise.
