Captain Cook Coffee

Kona coffee is regarded as one of the best coffees in the world. Captain Cook is one of the oldest coffee companies in Hawaii and in the 1880’s they started to grow and produce Kona coffee. Today, Captain Cook owned by the McLaughlin family obtains their coffee cherry from 450 estate farmers with their own farm on Napoopoo Road, South Kona District.

The production of the Kona Coffee begins in the January to June where the flowers are produced. After several months, the coffee cherries from these flowers turn red and are then handpicked. Then comes wet pulping, parchment drying and the dry mill process. After all these, the Kona Coffee can then be exported.

Captain Cook produces one of the best coffees not only in Hawaii but also in the world. The State of Hawaii Department of Agriculture gives them the certification that their Kona coffee is 100% pure and of the best quality.
